Construction of the Church of Our Lady before Týn began around 1365 and was completed in the early 16th century. Standing proudly over Prague’s Old Town Square, this magnificent Gothic landmark has become one of the city’s most recognisable symbols. Although the original architect remains unknown, the church was built by master medieval craftsmen during the reign of Charles IV. Its distinctive twin towers, intentionally designed with slight differences in size, have fascinated visitors for centuries and continue to showcase the extraordinary craftsmanship of medieval Europe.
