Some buildings are more than structures. They represent human ambition, imagination and the extraordinary possibilities of engineering.

For me, architecture and construction have always been more than a profession. They are a lifelong passion. After more than 20 years working in the building industry, I am still fascinated by the stories behind remarkable buildings and the people who make them possible.

Rising 828 metres above Dubai, the Burj Khalifa is the tallest completed building in the world.

Construction began in 2004, at a time when Dubai was rapidly transforming itself into a global centre for business, tourism and architecture.
